No One Hurt in Armored Truck Shootout

Two men attacked an armored truck Saturday at a Sears appliance service center in North Hollywood, opening fire on a guard before speeding off in a white Chevrolet van, police said.
The guard returned fire but apparently missed the gunmen, said Lt. Kathleen Sheehan of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division.
“Everybody must have been nervous, because nobody hit anybody,” Sheehan said.
It was not clear whether any money was stolen during the attack, which began shortly before 1 p.m. at the center, on the 11900 block of Sherman Road.
Bob Collis, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said paramedics took a guard who complained of neck pain to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley.
LAPD robbery-homicide detectives are investigating.
