El Modena High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance will be among the groups and individuals honored on Sunday at the Orange County Human Relations Commission’s 29th anniversary awards banquet. Each year the commission recognizes 18 groups or individuals that have made significant contributions to human rights countywide.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. A multicultural book exhibit by Libreria Martinez Book and Art Gallery will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., and there will be performances by Ron Kobayashi and the Sri Lankan Dance Ensemble.
