TORRANCE — Police believe they have struck out the “Three Strikes and You’re Out” bandit, who earned his nickname by wearing a baseball umpire’s mask during robberies at three area businesses earlier this month.
The holdups occurred March 13 at a 7-Eleven convenience store, a Subway eatery and the Gifts N More store, all in the city of Torrance, police Sgt. Kevin W. Kreager said.
Police said they arrested Jeremy Paul Ramirez, 25, of Long Beach, on Wednesday in connection with the crimes. Ramirez was being held on two counts of robbery. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incidents, Kreager said.
