Global Crossing Ltd. said its third-quarter loss widened from the previous quarter, but it didn’t give year-earlier comparisons. The company said its loss was $602.4 million, or 69 cents a share, in the latest quarter, compared with a loss of $516.2 million, or 62 cents, in the second quarter, as the cost of building its high-speed communications networks offset surging data sales. Revenue was $1 billion, up 10% from the previous quarter. Pro forma cash revenue was $1.3 billion, up 46% from the year-earlier third quarter and up 4% from the previous quarter. The pro forma results are adjusted for recent acquisitions and unit sales.
