A 21-year-old man remained in critical condition Monday after being shot once in the torso in a dark alley near Linden Place.
The Oxnard resident, whose name had not been released by investigators late Monday, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard after the Saturday night shooting, said Sgt. Jim Seitz of the Oxnard Police Department.
Seitz said the victim, along with other members of his family, were returning from Port Hueneme where they had watched the televised Lennox Lewis-David Tua boxing match.
The shooting occurred about 10:20 p.m. near the 400 block of Linden Place.
As the victim got out of a car parked in an alley, someone fired several shots, hitting him once. Authorities have identified no suspects, Seitz said.
