Buyers to Builders: Send Me an E-Mail
A recent home-buyer survey has revealed that about 66% of buyers expect their builders to communicate with them by e-mail with construction updates.
The “VISION 2000: Western New-Home Buyer Preference Survey,” conducted by National Survey Systems in Irvine, also found that 31% of shoppers are using the Internet to search for new-home information.
The 2,000 new-home shoppers who participated in the survey also were asked about their preferences for options in their new homes. About 39% said they prefer a single-story home, and most surveyed said they want additional storage in the kitchen and garage.
About 16% of respondents said they anticipate taking care of aging relatives in their new homes, and 73% of that group said they are buying larger homes to accommodate that eventuality.
