What’s happening the next few weeks:
* Pianist Emanuel Ax, performs with the Colorado Symphony in “Ax Plays Mozart” for three 7:30 p.m. shows, Nov. 9, 10 and 11. The program, to be conducted by Stefan Sanderling, features Mozart’s Overture to “Le Nozze di Figaro” and Piano Concerto No. 14 in E flat major, K. 449; Richard Strauss’ Burleske, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 48. * Sir Peter Hall directs the world premiere of “Tantalus,” a 10-part Trojan War-based theatrical epic inspired by the ancient Greek festivals, at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, from Oct. 21 to Dec. 2. Previews run through Oct. 20. The 10-play cycle can be seen in one- or two-day sessions, with catered meals included in the ticket price. Written by John Barton, the production--in its only North American stop before embarking on an international tour--is produced and presented by the Denver Center Theatre Company in association with Britain’s Royal Shakespeare Company. * “Diego Rivera: The Mural Drawings,” featuring preparatory sketches in which the Mexican master explored ways to tell stories of his native land, runs through Dec. 2 at the Museo de las Americas, 861 Santa Fe Drive. (303) 571-4401.
