IRVINE

The city this week unveiled an updated bikeways map designed to help encourage residents to ride their bicycles for transportation whenever possible.

The map, to be distributed soon at several locations throughout the city, includes all bike paths in the city, including those designed for off-road riding. The back of the map has tips on bicycle safety and how to load a bicycle onto an OCTA bus or Metrolink train.

Maps will be available at the Civic Center, libraries, senior centers, local bike shops and colleges and universities.
