Ranch House to Host State Birthday Event

City officials and residents are expected to celebrate the state’s sesquicentennial Saturday with parties planned at several locations, including the Camarillo Ranch House.
Representatives from the Santa Paula Oil Museum and Camarillo Historical Society will be on hand. Music, food and tours of the famous Camarillo house are also planned.
“This will allow us to understand and feel the importance of being Californians,” said former Camarillo Mayor Stan Daily.
Suzzi Crouch, the local coordinator for the sesquicentennial, said officials thought it would be a good idea to celebrate the state’s birthday in Camarillo. The historic home of the city’s founder is an appropriate place to hold such an event, Crouch said.
A stage will be erected on the grounds in front of the home and five acts are scheduled to perform.
