Genocide Charge

“Ex-Argentine Officer Charged With Genocide” (Sept. 2) reports the arrest of a former navy officer who is accused of kidnap, torture and execution of political dissidents in the 1970s in what became known as the infamous “Dirty War.” The implicit message for those in other parts of the world who continue to follow this practice is that the international community will never forget. Someday, somewhere, torturers and assassins of terrorist states will be held accountable for their actions.
