* AMR Corp.’s American Airlines will add international flights from San Jose, a city it once abandoned as a hub, to compete for increased business travel by computer-related companies. The world’s second-largest airline declined to reveal the new destinations pending a news conference today by Chief Executive Donald Carty. Industry consultants and analysts said the routes probably would be to Paris and London’s Gatwick Airport. American this month won U.S. approval for San Jose-to-Paris service. American wants to step up competition for the California market, now dominated by UAL Corp.’s United Airlines and Southwest Airlines Co. American cut most flights from San Jose in the early 1990s after failing to make a profit. It has been rebuilding San Jose as a hub since buying Reno Air Inc. in 1999.
