The Planning Commission will take another look tonight at plans to build a second-story addition to a historical 80-year-old Park Place home. The City Council in March approved a conditional-use permit and variance for the addition but asked the commission to consider whether the home could be enlarged without building a second floor.
City staff members are recommending that the original plan for a second-story addition, as proposed by Martin and Julie Zazzara, be approved. The project, first submitted to the city in December 1999, has been delayed several times by opposition from neighbors who said the addition would hurt the historical integrity of the neighborhood.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:30 in council chambers at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave.
