Support for Hahn Candidacy

* Recently The Times reported City Attorney Jim Hahn as a favorite candidate among African Americans. Hahn is also running strong among Latino voters in Los Angeles. He is capturing the attention of many Latinos because he shares our priorities: safe neighborhoods, improved public services and better education for our children.
Hahn has aggressively attacked the problem of gang violence in the city by creating a gang unit, making the streets and neighborhoods safer. He has also launched a program called Kid Watch L.A. [and] has organized neighborhood volunteers to watch over children walking to school in the morning and home in the afternoon.
I know that many Latino leaders believe that this is the chance to elect our own Latino mayor. I too would like to see a Latino as mayor of Los Angeles, and soon. But this time Angelenos need to elect the person who has demonstrated leadership in addressing city issues, the person who has dedicated his life to serving the people of Los Angeles, the person with a solid record of accomplishments. That is Jim Hahn.
