A Burbank police officer was injured Sunday when he was hit by a pickup truck while directing traffic, authorities said.
Officer Kelly Carsten was directing traffic at Magnolia and Glenoaks boulevards because of filming in the area when he was hit by a vehicle making a left turn about 4:30 p.m., a police spokesman said.
Carsten, who has worked for the Burbank Police Department for more than 20 years, was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, where he was admitted.
A nursing supervisor declined to say what his injuries were.
Joshua James Doell, the driver of the pickup truck, was not cited, but the accident is still under investigation, authorities said.
