Green Sea Turtles

So what if green sea turtles are butchered alive (“The Blood of Turtles Stains Bali,” March 28)? Lobsters are boiled alive for human consumption. I know of no fish that is not sliced up while still alive. Just because the fast-food burger was somehow butchered after its owner was killed doesn’t make it a different kind of dead meat than stewed turtle. No matter the cultural differences, meat is by definition dead.
