High Desert Knox Out Lancaster, 5-2

Ryan Knox hit a two-run triple during a three-run eighth inning that gave the High Desert Mavericks a 5-2 California League victory over the Lancaster JetHawks (9-5) on Wednesday night at The Hangar in Lancaster.
Lancaster starting pitcher Doug Slaten (0-2), from Pierce College, allowed nine hits and two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings.
Designated hitter Bill Scott of High Desert, from Alemany, went two for five with a run batted in and raised his average to .392.
