Update on the Mark Hughes Home

The article on Herbalife founder Mark Hughes (“Death and Denial at Herbalife,” by Matthew Heller, Feb. 18) states that Hughes had planned to “build a veritable San Simeon on a mountaintop above Benedict Canyon.” On Nov. 27, 2000, the 2nd Appellate District Court overturned the variance granted to Hughes to build his proposed residence. As his heirs and/or executors have not appealed this ruling, the decision is final.
