Things are never dull when the Friendly Indians are onstage, whether the group is playing lively originals from its two albums or offbeat cover tunes. This local stalwart gets its first shot at headlining Anaheim’s House of Blues on Saturday in an all-Orange County lineup. Also on the bill are Cowboy Buddha and the Mike Eldred Trio.

An exhibition of photos that were targeted for censorship are on display at BC Space Gallery in Laguna Beach. “Banned & Barred” features the work of more than a dozen photographers, each with a brief synopsis of how their work was publicly or quietly drawn into the arena of censorship and, in many cases, barred from an exhibition, publication or prospect for financial support. Works by Jerry Burchfield, Eileen Cowin, Rafael Serrano, Tony Culver, Ricardo Duffy, Anthony Friedkin, Jacques Garnier, Mark Greenfield and others are included.
