Timeless Switzerland

Oh, did your piece on Switzerland bring back wonderful memories of backpacking in Europe 30 years ago (“Home Sweet Home With Heidi,” July 15). Those wonderful pastures full of wildflowers, and lingering breakfasts with a silver pot of hot coffee and a silver pot of hot milk.
I know one can’t visit a favored spot in the U.S. after all that time for fear of hitting new malls and chain stores, but I just bet those villages in Switzerland would be exactly the same.
