A motorcyclist riding with a group of friends was killed Saturday on the southbound Harbor Freeway after striking a vehicle he was trying to pass. He fell off his bike and was struck by one of his companions, authorities said.
The 47-year-old Fullerton man, whose identity was not released pending notification of relatives, hit the back of a car as he merged into the Harbor Freeway from the northbound San Diego Freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Richard Richards.
It appeared the man may have died from hitting the ground, not from being hit by the other motorcycle, Richards said. No one else was injured and no one was cited for the accident, the officer said.
