Sharpton to Take a Look at Bid for White House

Speaking at a news conference here, New York civil rights activist Al Sharpton said he will form a committee to explore a possible bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004.
Sharpton said that, if he runs, his campaign would focus on reforming the election and criminal justice systems.
He said his lifelong record of dealing with public policy makes him less of a longshot than some other possible candidates.
