Guns to Be Locked Up During Cheney’s Visit

Gunslingers in the Wild West used to hang up their weapons when they walked into a saloon, according to folklore. Well, the good old days aren’t that far off.
When Vice President Dick Cheney visits Utah to address the state’s Republican Party convention Saturday, concealed weapon holders will be asked to store their guns in special lockers outside the Salt Lake City arena until Cheney leaves, officials said.
No armed individuals may enter an area that includes the president, vice president or any other person being protected, said Secret Service special agent Lon Garner.
