Supervisorial Contest

Linda Parks, candidate for Ventura County supervisor, helped write the Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources initiative. Parks gathered thousands of signatures to get it on the ballot. Parks submitted the complementary City Urban Restriction Boundary petition that bans urban sprawl around our cities. Parks continues to support SOAR by being vice president of SOAR Inc. and helps other cities enact growth-limiting laws.
There is a big difference between the kind of support that takes positive, effective action and the kind of “support” that pays lip service to an idea. There is no way to know whether Randy Hoffman, Parks’ opponent in the race, ever voted for SOAR as he now claims.
But I prefer the kind of leadership that does something I can see, not the kind of “support” that just mouths the right words when it’s politically expedient.
