From Times Wire Reports
Two aid workers freed last month from an Afghanistan jail returned to their church in Waco, thanking members who held nonstop prayer vigils during their 104-day imprisonment.
Dayna Curry, 30, and Heather Mercer, 24, whom Taliban rulers accused of preaching Christianity in the Muslim nation, called themselves “simple people” used by God to show prayers will be answered.
Mercer said she wants to eventually return to Afghanistan, despite her parents’ opposition.
“My heart is in Afghanistan. My home is in Afghanistan,” Mercer said. “I belong there.”
