SFO No Match for Oakland Airport

In Jane Engle’s column (“L.A.-to-S.F. Fares Rise as Airlines Cut Back Flights,” Nov. 25), her advice to take Southwest to Oakland is correct. The Oakland airport may be a little farther from downtown San Francisco, but it’s much closer to BART, and if you have business in downtown San Francisco and don’t need a car, the dedicated Air-BART shuttle from the Oakland airport to BART is the fastest way to get to downtown.
Also, Oakland airport is said to have a lot fewer problems with flight delays.
