Swastikas Scrawled on Church

Swastikas and phallic symbols were among the graffiti found over the weekend at a Sylmar church, in an incident police are calling a hate crime.
Vandals on Saturday night used a black marker on two signs, a wall and doors at Light and Life Christian Church in the 14000 block of Sayre Street near Glenoaks Boulevard, police said.
There have been no similar incidents recently in the northeast Valley, Los Angeles Police Det. Charles Uribe said.
The graffiti, which included, “Kids kill your parents while they sleep” and “Jewish people rule,” was covered or removed before Sunday services, Senior Pastor Bob Managbanag said.
“It doesn’t seem like the guy had any specific animosity, since there’s no rhyme or reason to what was written,” he said. “It’s just someone trying to get a rise out of us. But the church is bigger than this building.”
