An Arizona man who was visiting relatives in Port Hueneme was accosted and shot four times while walking down an alley, authorities said.
Antonio Vasquez, 25, of Phoenix, was in the 2500 block of Sextant Avenue about 9 p.m. Monday when two men approached him and made derogatory comments, police said.
One of the men pulled out a handgun and shot Vasquez twice in the thigh, once in the wrist and once in the leg, said Sgt. Chris Graham of the Port Hueneme Police Department.
None of the wounds was life-threatening.
Graham said the assailants were in their late teens or early 20s. So far there is no evidence that the attack was gang related.
