Not-Guilty Plea Entered in MTA Bus Hijacking

Carlos Ray Garcia pleaded not guilty Wednesday to shooting a man, commandeering an MTA bus and leading police on a harrowing downtown Los Angeles chase that ended with a fatal crash.
Garcia, 40, was arraigned in Superior Court on charges of murder, attempted murder, carjacking, six counts of kidnapping for carjacking, robbery, attempted carjacking and evasion of an officer resulting in death.
Special circumstance allegations could make Garcia eligible for the death penalty if he is convicted. Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to seek death.
