K-Mozart Will Observe Heifetz’s 100th Birthday

Classical radio station KMZT-FM (K-Mozart 105.1) will air a daylong celebration today of the 100th anniversary of violinist Jascha Heifetz’s birth.

In addition to playing some of Heifetz’s major works, the tribute from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. will feature celebrity remembrances by those who knew Heifetz or were influenced by him. Among those scheduled are Heifetz’s son, Jay, as well as Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Aaron Rosand and Gil Shaham.
