Barrera and Western Three-Time Magnolia

Rosa Barrera made nine three-point baskets and scored 35 points Thursday to lead Western to a 58-51 victory over Magnolia in an Orange League girls’ basketball game at Western.
Western (6-14, 2-4) trailed by one point entering the fourth quarter, but Barrera scored 15 points, including every point in a 10-2 run that put the Pioneers up for good.
Mariah Mendoza and Vao Faoa scored 15 points each for Magnolia (9-12, 3-3).
In another Orange League game:
No. 2 Brea Olinda 58, Valencia 36--Tara Hefferly scored 15 points, Jackie Lord had 11 points and seven assists and Jennifer Katsuyama had nine steals for Brea Olinda (16-4, 6-0).
In the Empire League:
El Dorado 56, Cypress 41--With the scored tied, 16-16, El Dorado went on a 7-0 run to end the first half and never trailed after that. Melissa Jacob and Carly Wade scored 15 points each for El Dorado (18-4, 6-0).
In the Golden West League:
Tustin 78, Ocean View 60--Senior forward Jasmine Hooper scored 21 points for Tustin (9-13, 4-1). Constance Brinson had 17 and Jamie Goodman 16. Kyko Barton scored eight of her 10 points in the second quarter, when Tustin went on a 28-14 run.
Lissa Shepperd finished with 18 points for Ocean View (7-14, 2-3).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Estancia 39, Costa Mesa 38--Zuyin Barrera hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 22 seconds to play, and the Eagles (13-8, 5-1) then stole an inbounds pass and killed the last seven seconds.
Costa Mesa dropped to 13-9, 4-2.
In the Sea View League:
No. 6 Woodbridge 66, Laguna Hills 52--Kelsi Sousa scored 19 points, including five three-pointers, to lead Woodbridge (21-0, 5-0).
Megan Aaker scored 24 points for Laguna Hills.
In the Serra League:
No. 10 Rosary 66, Mater Dei 46--Jennie Asensio scored 13 of her 22 points in the second half, helping the Royals (18-6, 3-1) outscore Mater Dei, 35-13. Cara Enright scored six of her eight points during a 20-4 run in the fourth quarter.
Jessica Williams scored 18 points for the Monarchs (6-15, 1-3), including 13 in the first half.
In the South Coast League:
El Toro 61, Trabuco Hills 42--Carrie Twaddell led the Chargers with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 11 blocks.
No. 3 San Clemente 65, Capistrano Valley 52--Lindsey Plumer scored 15 points and Sara Brown and Kim Buffum added 14 each for visiting San Clemente (19-3, 6-0).
