A 16-year-old who did not return home after a rave Saturday was found safe in Nevada early Wednesday, authorities said.
Kelly Ann Brooks, a sophomore at Capistrano Valley High School, was at the home of the grandmother of someone she met at the rave in San Bernardino, police said.
Her parents chartered a jet to Las Vegas and will drive home with their daughter, said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The teenager told her parents she was attending an overnight church function. Instead she went to the party with a teenage boy she met on the Internet. He left the party and returned to pick her up, but she had gone, he told police.
