Peter L. Lacombe; Oil Executive and Civic Leader

Peter L. Lacombe, 76, attorney, former Standard Oil executive and Torrance civic leader, died Sunday in Torrance.
A native of San Francisco, Lacombe served as a bombardier in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He began his business law career with the San Francisco-based Westates Petroleum Co. and in 1954 joined Standard Oil Co. of California (now Chevron USA Inc.) as house counsel. He moved to T.I. Corp. of California, holding company for Title Insurance and Trust Co. and others, in 1969 as associate general counsel and vice president.

Lacombe obituary--The June 14 obituary of attorney and Torrance civic leader Peter L. Lacombe misstated the place of his death. Lacombe died June 10 in Riverside. He was 76.
Within his community, Lacombe was president of the Torrance Chamber of Commerce, a trustee for Torrance Memorial Hospital and a trustee of the El Camino College Foundation.
He was honored for his voluntary legal work for the YMCA, American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts. He helped found the Music Prodigy Foundation, a group that supports young musicians.
