* With recent headlines of school shootings, leaders without morals, Police Department scandals and the multitude of depressing stories, it was a joy to read on the March 18 front page of Terry Rose and her unselfish donation of a kidney to a stranger. May there be many such articles to remind us that news can be about “ordinary people” saving lives and helping others. Thank you, Terry Rose, for reaffirming our faith in humanity.

Being an inherently selfish person, it is almost impossible for me to fathom that there are people out there like Rose. Giving a kidney to a total stranger has to be the most selfless thing that a person can do for another human.
If Terry is not someday sainted, then how can anyone be considered for that most lofty spiritual ideal? Words fail to describe a woman who, out of pure kindness, not looking for any rewards, is so utterly kind and compassionate.
