Tribune Seeks to Expand TV Operations

Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, said it’s seeking a sale or trade of its Denver radio stations to expand its television broadcasting operations.
The Chicago-based company said it hired Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown as its financial advisor. Tribune’s Denver radio stations are KOSI-FM, KKHK-FM and KEZW-AM, according to a statement.
Tribune said in June that it was in the market for more television acquisitions, as a decline in stock prices at many small broadcasters made some purchases attractive. It owns 23 television stations.
