3 Deaths After Knee Surgeries Investigated

The suspicious deaths of three men who underwent knee surgery at two hospitals have prompted a statewide medical alert and probe into the possible causes.
One of the victims, who was in his 60s, died Friday, three days after having knee surgery at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, officials told the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper.
They said that death came after those of two men Nov. 11. Aged 23 and 78, they became critically ill and suffered dramatic drops in blood pressure days after knee surgery at St. Cloud Hospital.
