Re “A Family’s Long Trip From One L.A. to Another,” Nov. 21: In 1961, at age 15, I went on a summer trip with three of my favorite junior high school teachers to Mexico. We drove in two trucks; nine of us, six students and three teachers, through the cities and jungles of Mexico. An adventure at my age of awakening.
The other day I found my diary and pictures taken with my father’s old Kodak 35mm camera. There it was! My picture of the sign announcing the dirt road to Los Angeles, Mexico!
Thank you for the wonderful story about someone from the other Los Angeles. It gives my picture even more meaning and renews my faith that people are similar everywhere. Something to remember in these changing times.
