A man walked into a Bank of America on Wednesday afternoon and left with an undisclosed amount of cash after handing a teller a note demanding money, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies and FBI investigators searched the area around the bank in the 2400 block of Ponderosa Drive shortly after the 4:50 p.m. heist, but were unable to locate the robber, officials said. The man went out the bank’s back door after a teller handed him money, said Claudia Tolmie, a communications supervisor for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses described the man as 32 to 37 years old, 5 feet 8 and having black hair, Tolmie said.
He was wearing a tan sport jacket and beige pants, Tolmie said. No weapon was seen.
