Six factory workers suffered minor burns Saturday in a chemical fire and explosion, the Fire Department said.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, contained to one room at Air Industries Corp. on Knott Street. The fire and explosion occurred almost simultaneously at 12:22 p.m. Firefighters said they do not know which occurred first.
The company makes aircraft parts. Authorities said the fire occurred in a room that stored kolene, used to treat metal. Damage was contained to that room.
The fire was under control by 1:08 p.m.
Victims suffered minor chemical and heat burns and were taken to West Anaheim Hospital and Anaheim General Hospital, firefighters said.
