Man Arrested After Trying to Flee Police

A man who led police on an early-morning foot chase through Oxnard streets Monday was arrested after being doused with pepper spray when he pulled a starter’s gun from his waistband and threw it on the ground, officials said.
Leonardo Fernandez Villa, 22, of Oxnard was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest, possession of a concealed weapon and driving under the influence after the 3:15 a.m. incident, Sgt. Steven Moore said.
