The NBA will not vote Tuesday on the Hornets’ request to move from Charlotte, N.C., to New Orleans.
The league has a board of governors meeting that day and it was believed the vote would be held then, but a league spokesman said the board does not have to make its recommendation until May 17.
Commissioner David Stern and members of the relocation committee visited New Orleans last month and pronounced the arena ready for the NBA. The commissioner, however, said the Hornets must sell 2,400 club seats by today, complete a TV deal and find more sponsors.
