Rangers Send Rocker to Minor Leagues

The Texas Rangers optioned John Rocker to triple-A Oklahoma early Wednesday, after he blew a save opportunity by giving up two runs in the 10th inning of the Rangers’ 6-5 loss to the Angels the night before.
“John’s performance just hadn’t been what we think his ability is,” General Manager John Hart said.
Rocker was 0-1 with one save, two blown saves and a 9.53 earned-run average.
Cleveland Indian pitcher Chuck Finley filed for divorce from actress Tawny Kitaen only days after she was arrested for allegedly hitting him.
Finley, 39, filed divorce papers in Orange County Superior Court on April 4 and obtained a temporary restraining order preventing Kitaen from seeing him. He also received temporary custody of the couple’s two daughters, ages 9 and 3.
The St. Louis Cardinals intend to put struggling right-hander Andy Benes on the disabled list, and the pitcher is contemplating retirement.
