Warehouse Destroyed in Three-Alarm Fire

Fire destroyed a warehouse holding cardboard boxes in Santa Fe Springs when flames quickly burned through the flat roof on Wednesday evening, authorities said.
The blaze, at Makaha Industries in the 11500 block of Washington Boulevard, began burning just before 6 p.m. Wednesday and was controlled within half and hour, Santa Fe Springs Fire Chief Dave Simmons said.
About 60 firefighters from Santa Fe Springs, Downey, Montebello, Vernon, Compton and the Los Angeles County Fire Department battled the three-alarm blaze. No injuries injuries were reported.
