Anti-Secession Group Challenges Data

An anti-secession group disputed projected law enforcement costs for a new San Fernando Valley city Thursday, accusing its rival of fabricating numbers to build voter support.
One Los Angeles, a group formed last October, issued a report challenging statements by Jeff Brain, president of the secession group Valley Vote, that contracting with the Sheriff’s Department would cost $80 million less than the current cost of LAPD services.
The savings would be reflected in reduced services for the area, the report says.
