Man, 72, Accused of Possessing Child Porn

A federal grand jury indicted a Newport Beach man Wednesday on charges of possessing child pornography and a pipe bomb that police said they found during a search of his home in December.
Bruce Knight Cleworth, 72, is accused of possessing at least 10 images of child pornography kept in binders at his home, as well as the pipe bomb, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
Newport Beach police conducted the search after a 40-year-old Oregon man accused Cleworth of molesting him more than 25 years ago. No charges have been filed in that investigation.
Cleworth, who must appear Monday in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, faces up to five years in prison if convicted on the child pornography charge and up to 10 years if convicted on the pipe bomb charge.
