Shuttered Strip Club Barred From Reopening

A strip club has been bounced from a Reseda neighborhood and the property owners permanently barred from leasing to any adult business, under an agreement reached with the city.
Showgirls Cabaret, the latest incarnation of the strip club in the 7200 block of Reseda Boulevard, was shut down in May under a preliminary injunction, said Frank Mateljan, spokesman for City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo.
“This is one of those quality-of-life issues we’re targeting,” Mateljan said. “Eliminating the smaller problems and crimes will help keep away the larger crimes.”he club, which had generated complaints of lewd conduct and prostitution since at least 1997, should never have been granted a permit because it was located within 500 feet of homes, a violation of zoning laws, Mateljan said.
