UC Irvine Hires Speraw as Volleyball Coach

John Speraw, an assistant at UCLA the last four seasons, has been hired to coach men’s volleyball at UC Irvine.
Speraw, 30, played middle blocker for the Bruins’ national championship teams in 1993 and 1995. He replaces Charlie Brande, who had coached the men’s and women’s teams. Brande will continue to coach the women’s team.
