4.1 Earthquake Strikes Eastern Sierra

A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck an area just outside Bishop in the Eastern Sierra on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The 1:18 p.m. temblor, centered two miles northwest of Bishop, was felt distinctly in the town, but there were no reports of damage or injuries. Two small aftershocks followed. There has been little seismic activity in the area since a magnitude 6.1 quake in 1986.
