Drootin Steps Down at Chaminade High

Scott Drootin, who guided West Hills Chaminade High to three Mission League baseball titles in six years as coach, has resigned to pursue other coaching opportunities. Chaminade made three Southern Section semifinal playoff appearances under Drootin.
In other personnel moves:
* Doi Johnson, formerly the coach at Los Angeles Jordan High, will replace his father as football coach at L.A. Jefferson High. Hank Johnson retired from teaching and coaching this spring.
* Robert Boyd, a former assistant coach at Playa del Rey St. Bernard, has been named football coach at Lakewood Artesia.
