Unattended Bag Causes Another LAX Evacuation
- Share via
The baggage claim area in Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport was evacuated for an hour Friday after an airport employee spotted an unattended bag near a concrete pillar on the lower level roadway.
Vehicle traffic on the lower level was diverted about 3:10 p.m., while the Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad checked the bag. An hour later, the bomb squad cleared the bag, which turned out to be a carrying case with a camera inside, an airport spokeswoman said. No identification was found on the bag.
The evacuation was the fifth in as many days at the world’s third-busiest airport. Three of the five incidents occurred because travelers had left their bags behind.
