Not Guilty Plea in Hijackers’ Fake ID Case

A man who authorities suspect alerted some of the Sept. 11 hijackers to the opportunity to obtain fake IDs from Virginia pleaded not guilty to two counts of fraud.
Eyad M. Alrababah, 29, of Bridgeport, Conn., approached federal agents Sept. 29 and told them he spent time with some of the hijackers in Virginia and Connecticut before the attacks, court records showed. Alrababah also admitted helping immigrants obtain fake IDs from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, which was possible through a loophole, the FBI said.
